TEAM BUILDING
Team building experiences that do good (and taste good)
If you’ve never shared a spatula with a colleague, or chopped chicken with a client, now’s the time to give it a try. Because there’s nothing like the pressure of cooking massive amounts of food to a tight deadline to bring people together.
Some companies use our events to get a team working better together, or get people off Zoom and into the same space. Others bring a bunch of clients for a day they won’t forget. Shouting ‘Yes, Chef!’ is optional, but it adds to the fun – and there are prizes for chopping skills, team-player energy and more.
And because the profits go back to our community, the feelgood effect lasts long after the washing up is done. Here are some of the ways you can cook with us.
I’ve never seen the team so engaged.
Our team building cooking experiences
Here’s a snapshot of our different team experiences. We can also create a bespoke package of multiple events or, if you’d like to go deeper, explore options for partnership with you.
Cook & Share
Roll up your sleeves, crank up the tunes, and get cooking for our community
We’ll set you to work prepping and cooking around 100 meals for local residents, shelters and charities. You’ll think there’s no way it can all be done in time, but with the help of our chefs and some brilliant teamwork, you’ll pull it off. And when you come together to eat what you’ve cooked, it’ll taste like the best food you’ve ever had.
Cook & Serve
Get your chef’s hat and your game face on, and host a three-course meal
You’ll be tasked with making a starter, main course and dessert, with the hard deadline of 60 residents arriving to be fed. Our chefs will support you every step of the way, and we’ll be as proud as you if your meal gets a round of applause. And you’ll certainly be ready to tuck in when you come back together to eat what you’ve cooked.
Double Helpings
Bring up to 40 colleagues for two high-impact, back-to-back sessions
We’ll go all out for maximum impact by getting two of your teams cooking on the same day. Each team will have to pull together to create around 80 meals to a super-tight deadline, with time built in to taste their creations along the way, and a banging playlist to help them keep up the pace. High energy, high impact, and a highlight for everyone.
Community Bites
Enjoy an international cooking experience, co-hosted by our Community Brigade
We’ll take up to 12 of your colleagues on a trip around the world in four dishes, creating delicious bites from different cultures. You’ll get to learn from the members of our Brigade training programme, while supporting their work experience journey. And as well as tasting everything you’ve made together, you’ll also create some delicious food for our community.
Soup in a Box
Enjoy some healthy competition as you prep some healthy meals
We’ll come to you, split you into sub teams and get you peeling, chopping, slicing and dicing the ingredients for family-sized portions of hearty, healthy soup. Then you’ll pack them up, ready to share with members of our community. Which sub team will fill the most boxes? And who will win one of our coveted prizes? The pressure is on. We can host if you prefer.
Soup Lunch Service
Treat your staff to a delicious lunch, cooked by our Community Brigade
An excellent way to support our Brigade’s training and work experience, while giving your staff a break from boring sarnies and cardboard box salads and an excuse to come together at lunchtime. We’ll come to your office with two delicious soups, freshly made bread and a stack of brownies or bakes, that not only taste good but have the feelgood factor too.
What happens at a team building event?
We recently hosted a team from Genuine Dining, one of our culinary partners, who made a film of their Cook & Serve experience. Here’s what they got up to.
